Futbin.com has collected data looking at the most popular gaming consoles & video games in different countries around the world, according to Google searches of the past 12 months.
According to the results of an analysis of 100+ search terms in 195 countries around the world:
- PS5 is the most popular gaming console - it is the most googled gaming console in 107 countries, translating to a market share of 54.87%
- Nintendo Switch & Xbox Series X are the second and third most popular consoles, respectively
- Baldur’s Gate 3 is the most popular video game - it is the most googled game in 67 countries around the world (equating to 34.36% of the total searches), followed closely by Resident Evil 4, which was the most popular in 50 countries
- eFootball 2024 is the most popular sports video game - it is the most googled sports game in 93 countries, translating to a market share of 47.69%
- Surprisingly, in spite of its recent name change, the search terms for (technically non-existent) FIFA 24 / FIFA 2024 game were the second and third most popular
