About the author
Matt Mason grew up in the suburbs of North London, where his childhood was steeped in the magic of theatre, books, and storytelling. With two actors as parents, Mason was surrounded by creative expression from a young age, which naturally led him to pursue a career in the creative industries. A graduate of Graphic Design from Middlesex University, Matt has spent decades crafting narratives through advertising and branding.
In 2005, he first created the character of Magic Mole to entertain his children when they were little – writing it so he could read to them about a charming mole with a few endearing flaws and a big heart. Nearly twenty years later, the character has been revived in his debut children's book, where Magic Mole’s lessons in kindness, determination, and learning through mistakes are sure to resonate with young readers everywhere. Now, all in their 20s, Matt’s children are all working with him in the family business to produce the book.
