Music Minute - Wendy and DB: Talk About It

2023 Grammy® nominees Wendy and DB recently released “Talk About It,” a powerful new single for kids and families. The song will be included in the multicultural duo’s seventh album, Sunny Side Up, which will be out in Spring 2025.

“Talk About It,” a catchy call to action for today’s times, suggests we can all do better at communicating, whether it be at home, on the schoolyard, or in the world at large. Performed in true Wendy and DB style with infectiously buoyant vocals woven together and harmonies and verses traded off, “Talk About It” encourages taking a “lip vacation” and remembering to listen, since listening is an essential key to communication.

“We can make communication a goal in our own communities, with strangers, family, or anyone with a different opinion, but first we have to be willing to listen and to ‘Talk About It,’” says Darryl “DB” Boggs.

“We felt this was the perfect time to release ‘Talk About It,’ as there is so much hatred and negative banter on the news and in our environment,” adds Wendy Morgan. “We can’t move forward unless we open up to the differences between us. With families divided by differing opinions, children can sense the tension even if they don’t see the news. We must start somewhere, and the time is now.”

Four years in the making, Wendy and DB’s upcoming album, Sunny Side Up, was produced by Grammy winner Dean Jones and features performances by Grammy winner Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, Grammy nominee Pierce Freelon, Latin Grammy nominee Flor Bromley, and a winner of 39 national awards, Katherine Dines.

A vibrant collection of positive and hopeful songs, Sunny Side Up is designed to uplift and inspire kids while acknowledging the ups and downs of childhood. This heartfelt, family-friendly album embraces the messy, beautiful, and hopeful sides of growing up. It radiates encouragement and joy with tracks like “Never Give Up,” and “Sunny Side Up,” while songs like “Im in a Mood” and “Ouchie Ya Ya” give space for big feelings and life's little struggles.

“Talk About It” is now available at major online outlets and streaming platforms. Sunny Side Up will be available in Spring 2025.
