I recently had a chance to see a copy of The ABCs of Women’s History. This is a great book for kids to learn more about the amazing - and sometimes unknown - contributions of women throughout history.
I like how some pages are about a theme, other pages highlight, a group of women, and then some pages focus on just one important figure. Each letter isn't always specific to a person's name, either - for example, Shirley Chisholm shows up under U for "unbought and unbossed."
It's a great book for starting discussions with kids about the important roles women play. My kids already know a lot of what's in the book, although there were a few pages that had new information. If they were younger, though, we'd probably focus on one page at a time, and dive deeper into each topic. It's a great book for families or classrooms to get kids thinking about history, more than just what shows up in most history books.
