My daughter and I are doing a nutrition challenge with a group of friends, so it was a great time to try out some cookie mix from Quantm Life.
Our focus right now is on reducing sugar, and she's actually been making some homemade breakfast cookies as a low-sugar alternative to other typical breakfasts, so it was easy to incorporate this mix into our routine.
Quantm actually has a full-fledged cookie diet, which is a lot like other diet programs where you use meal replacements for part of your meals. With the diet, you have cookies for breakfast, lunch, and snack, and then a more substantial dinner of lean meat and veggies.
The website also has suggestions for substitutions and mix-ins to add variety to the cookies. The cookies are pretty low in sugar, with a good amount of protein to help you feel satisfied. They taste good too. Although we aren't using them as the full diet, just as breakfast cookies, they're definitely something I could eat for quite a few days in a row. They were easy to mix up and had a good consistency.
The mix is plant-based, with no artificial flavors or colors. Although the instructions say to add egg and butter, than can easily be substituted for plant-based substitute like flaxseed. Using hemp protein, the cookies contain omega-3 and omega-6, plus plenty of fiber as well. Nutritionally, they're much better than the average cookie, so even if you don't use them as the full meal replacement diet, they can provide a much healthier dessert alternative!
Tim Unruh
After 35 years in the agriculture & financial industries, Tim turned entrepreneur dedicated to helping others achieve a healthier and happier life. His goal was to create something one could bake fresh, toss in the freezer, and grab each day on the way out the door. Cue the nutritionist and food scientist and they fine-tuned a formula using gluten free flour, lots of rolled oats for fiber, and fortified the cookies with hemp protein from one of the most healthy and sustainable plants in the world. Tim was his own first subject and proudly boasts a 25 lb. loss... without counting calories or an elaborate exercise regimen.
