Chad Dorsey is pleased to announce the release of his first monograph, published by Assouline, titled Relaxed Luxury.
Available February 25, through Assouline’s Classics Collection, the book features 14 projects by his eponymous studio, Chad Dorsey Design. Each is accompanied by a breadth of photographs, advice, moodboards, and personal insight from the longtime Texan’s most notable projects over the past two decades. Dorsey’s insight spans everything from paint colors to space-saving tricks, decoding how to create haute relaxation in your own space.
In fashion, there is quiet luxury. In interior design, it’s time to meet “relaxed luxury,” an of-the-moment décor movement coined by Dorsey himself, who details what it means to live a laid back yet elevated lifestyle.
“Relaxed luxury is the idea of living casually with things a person loves to touch and feel in a way that is approachable and not precious. Relaxed luxury is understated,” says the acclaimed architect and designer. “Often quiet, it can go unnoticed, but the user with a discerning eye will appreciate the details and soothing feeling.”
Dorsey has long been associated with the "relaxed luxury” aesthetic, or what he refers to as “the difference between existing and living.” The much-awaited publication now acts as a testament to the muted palette, custom furnishings, and meaningful objects that define his work. |
