Travel Tidbits - Americans Are Doubling Travel Budgets in 2025

Americans are making travel a top priority in 2025, according to new data.

The annual report found 92% of Americans plan to travel this year, and 79% are budgeting for their trips. In fact, the average American 2025 travel budget is nearly double the average 2024 budget.

  • Average 2025 travel budget: $10,244 (up from $5,300 in 2024)
  • 60% prioritize travel when managing finances
  • 63% plan to use points/rewards to help cover travel expenses

Other travel trends in 2025: 57% are planning to take a longer vacation in 2025 than they did in 2024. The top reason? Making up for missed travel in previous years.

While many Americans are prioritizing travel, some are not prepared: nearly 1 in 4 (24%) of Americans surveyed do not have a REAL ID ahead of the May 7 deadline. Among those who don’t, 64% don’t know what it is or don’t plan to get one.

Take a look at the full report for more insights including how Americans plan to travel, where they’re going to stay, and who they’re traveling with.
