Parkview service center at 2024 N. Lyndale in Minneapolis. They are restarting a mid-day hot meal program with hot lunches every Tuesday for members of the North Minneapolis community. After a month, they will add a Thursday lunch meal, and hope it will grow from there, possibly including evening meals during the summer.
While the service center has consistently addressed the community's food insecurity needs for many years through its food shelf, the previous hot meal program was discontinued toward the end of the pandemic. They are excited to be able to restart the program and help it grow in the months to come. And as a side story, the cook who will be running this program is a graduate of The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Program for drug and alcohol addiction recovery, and he is excited to be helping others who might be walking the path he once walked.
