Tapping into their pop-country side, country girl group
Just Jayne releases summer-ready new track
“All Backroads,” out now. Comprised of singer-songwriters Taylor Edwards, Rachel Wiggins and Jillian Steele, Just Jayne lets their harmonies shine in this happy-go-lucky love song that showcases the girls' skillful harmonies and ability to create a story that draws listeners in.
“We wrote 'All Backroads' the day of the solar eclipse last year. We came into the session caffeinated and excited and felt like the song just fell out of the sky and into our laps,” shares Just Jayne. “Maybe it had something to do with the planets aligning, but the energy just felt different that day. We wrote this song about that one boy we would each always find ourselves running back to when we'd go back to our hometowns. Three different hometowns and three different relationships makes for a lot of stories to tell, and 'All Backroads' covers that ground. So cheers to the Rite Aid and Sonic parking lots, and if you find yourselves driving back there when you listen to this song, don't blame us!!!!”
At the end of February, Just Jayne dropped
“New Boots,” letting “their luscious three-part harmonies absolutely shine” (
Holler) as they sing of the difficulties that come with moving on from a past fling. Emphasizing the comfort of someone familiar, the track uses the comparison of “new boots” to a “new relationship” and agonizes over the hope of hanging on. Just Jayne made their debut with
“This Morning” earlier this year,
which
Entertainment Focus noted “encapsulates Just Jayne's signature style: deeply relatable storytelling set to modern country production.”
Solidifying their place in the spotlight, Just Jayne made their mark in Music City after making their CMA Fest debut last year and performing at various showcases including Whiskey Jam, Nashville Briefing's Artists to Watch showcase, Hoofbeat Festival and on the road with Maddie & Tae. This spring, they look forward to joining Maddie & Tae again on their Love & Light Tour in major cities including New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
