Shopping Honesty Survey

Over two-fifths of Americans have witnessed someone stealing while shopping, but didn't say anything.

What would you do?

A new study by Total Odds explores the problem of dishonest shopping across America. Here is what we found:

  • Nearly 1 in 5 Americans admit to entering produce codes incorrectly while shopping to get a cheaper price.

  • 1 in 6 Americans admit they have purposely not scanned an item at self-checkout.

  • 1 in 10 Americans admit to purposely using an expired, incorrect, or fake coupon while shopping for a discount.

  • 1 in 10 Americans admit to consuming an item while shopping and not paying for it.

  • 1 in 12 Americans admit to swapping price stickers on an item while shopping.
