Originally created when Siona Talekar was just seven years old, I Know What You Do When I Go to School is a whimsical and heartfelt story that captures a child's perspective on what their mother does while they're away.
The young narrator imagines her mother indulging in chocolate cake, watching movies, and enjoying a carefree day. However, the reality is quite different--her mom is actually a pediatric oncologist, working hard to care for children battling cancer.
Now at thirteen, Siona has refined the book's illustrations and storytelling, creating a beautiful celebration of creativity, family, and love.
She also has a goal -
With your help, I want to donate my book to 5,000 children through:
• 1,500 printed books for children in hospitals, Title I schools, and shelters
• 3,500 digital books delivered through nonprofits and outreach programs
• Special deliveries of Story Monster Greenie Boxes™—fun boxes filled with books, activities, and surprises to make a child feel extra special
These books and boxes will go to kids who may be having a tough time and could use a reminder that someone is thinking about them.
If you want to help her reach her goal, visit Siona's fundraising page!
