Sheryl Kurland, 69, and her mom, Bette Anne Leider, 93, have helped more than 100,000 victims of domestic violence using the power of beauty. With Bette Anne’s love of lipstick and daughter Sheryl’s experience working with domestic violence victims, the duo pooled their passions and launched 501c3 nonprofit, Find Your Fabulosity in 2016. Now, eight and a half years later, Find Your Fabulosity works with 300 domestic violence women’s shelters in all 50 states, donating an endless supply of lipsticks to women who are re-building their lives and their self-esteem after escaping domestic violence. In addition to receiving a constant flow of lipstick donations from women across the U.S., including former FYF lipstick recipients; they have gotten donations from large retail chains like Costco and CVS, and numerous cosmetics brands: M.A.C Cosmetics, GXVE Cosmetics, e.l.f. Beauty, Thrive Causemetics and many other beauty brands who are passionate about their work to uplift women. To date, through the generosity of, both, individual and corporate lipstick donations and a team of dedicated volunteers, Sheryl and Bette Anne have collected and donated more than 110K lipsticks to domestic violence victims across the U.S. Their next goal is to reach 200K lipstick donations. See Sheryl and Bette Anne’s inspiring story HERE. Points of Interest: Sheryl’s mom, Bette Anne, always told her daughter, “If you want to feel better, just go put on a little lipstick,” and Sheryl took her mom’s words to heart. Sheryl spent years holding workshops for domestic violence victims at various women’s shelters. She began bringing new packaged lipsticks to these workshops and witnessed firsthand how the lipsticks brightened the women’s spirits and boosted their confidence. In 2016 Sheryl and Bette Anne created Find Your Fabulosity, an all-volunteer-based 501c3 nonprofit organization. In 2023, Gwen Stefani’s GXVE Beauty donated 1,000 lipsticks to Sheryl and Bette Anne’s cause. In 2024, they reached the 100K lipstick donation milestone, and Thrive Causemetics named a lipstick after Sheryl in honor of Find Your Fabulosity’s amazing work. In 2025, e.l.f. cosmetics donates 500 lipsticks to Sheryl and Bette Anne's cause. |
