West Coast Songwriters, one of the nation’s premier nonprofit organizations supporting songwriters, is thrilled to announce the launch of its 2025 Songwriting Contest. This contest invites songwriters from all backgrounds to share their creativity, gain exposure to industry leaders, and compete for exciting rewards, including cash prizes, expert mentorship, and a spotlight performance opportunity. Submissions open May 1 and close August 1, 2025. Full contest details and entry form available at: www.westcoastsongwriters.org

Celebrating original voices across all genres, the contest invites emerging and established songwriters alike to submit their best work. Finalists will be evaluated by a panel of award-winning songwriters, producers, and music executives.
"We believe great songs can come from anywhere," shared Platinum Songwriter and President, Jennifer Adan. "Our contest is about finding and celebrating those voices, providing meaningful opportunities for songwriters to grow and be heard."

This Contest is open to amateur and professional songwriters. A parent/guardian is required to agree to the entry for entries by songwriters under 18 years of age. Employees of WCS, their families, subsidiaries, and affiliates are not eligible.
Winners will be selected by an Executive Committee comprised of noted singer/songwriters. Past judges and Conference guests include Hit Songwriters and producers Narada Michael Walden, Steve Seskin, Andre Pessis, George Merrill, Bonnie Hayes, and others. Songs will be judged based on melody, composition, and lyrics (when applicable). The quality of performance and production will not be taken into consideration. Prizes will be awarded jointly to all authors of any song.
The prize winners will be announced on the front page of our website, via press releases, and on all social networking tools.

About West Coast Songwriters:
West Coast Songwriters (WCS) was born from a shared passion for music and a belief in the power of song to inspire, connect, and transform lives. Our journey began with Patty and Michael Silvashire, who had a vision to create a supportive and collaborative community where songwriters could come together to hone their craft, share their stories, and find their voice.
Inspired by the rich musical heritage of the West Coast, our founding members set out to cultivate a vibrant community that celebrates creativity, fosters growth, and champions artistic expression. They envisioned a space where aspiring songwriters could find mentorship, resources, and opportunities to showcase their talent, regardless of their background or level of experience.
Driven by their commitment to excellence and innovation, WCS was born and embarked on a journey of exploration and discovery, embracing the diversity of musical genres and the richness of human experience. We recognized the importance of creating an inclusive and equitable environment where all songwriters feel welcomed, respected, and supported on their creative journey.
With dedication, perseverance, and a shared sense of purpose, we laid the foundation for West Coast Songwriters, shaping it into a dynamic community that continues to inspire, empower, and uplift songwriters from coast to coast. As we continue to evolve and grow, we remain steadfast in our founding principles, guided by our passion for music and our belief in the transformative power of song. WCS is a 501(c)(3) Organization.
