I recently had a chance to try some delicious oils from Fresh Vintage Farms. The company, based in California, produces oils with sustainability in mind. I got to try three different kinds - pure cold pressed walnut, almond, and garlic infused almond.
I had honestly never tried either type of oil before, although I've seen almond oil as an ingredient. I loved the chance to try them out. My older daughter and I especially like trying new flavors and ingredients, and everything I made with any of the three was a hit. The oils work for salads, marinades, and pretty much anything you'd use other types of oils for. They add just a bit of a nutty flavor, but it's not as strong as eating straight nuts. The garlic infused oil was delicious for a variety of stovetop dishes. We do enjoy garlic, and the oil has a good balance - the garlic isn't too strong, but it's definitely noticeable.
Whether you're a well-experienced chef who wants to elevate dishes, or an average home cook who wants to try something new, Vintage Farms will work well for you! Check out these recipes for inspiration and ideas.
The company uses tree nuts grown in the Central Valley of California; the company was started by third-generation almond farmers, so it's a great family-owned company too. You can learn a lot more about their commitment to sustainability and what sets their process apart from other types of oils on their About Us page. Right now they're trying to become available nationwide at Sprouts and Whole Foods - in fact, they'll give you 15% off your order if you request them at your local branch of those retailers!
