Fun Freetime - Making a Friend with a Boat

Summer is officially in session. The sun is out. The beverages are cold. The water is calling. Everywhere you look, someone’s hopping aboard a boat like they just stepped into a lifestyle commercial. Meanwhile, you’re Googling “inflatable paddleboard rental near me.” Let’s be real. Not everyone owns a boat (yet). But that doesn’t mean you can’t live the boating life. Because every seasoned marina dweller knows one thing to be true: The real MVP of summer isn’t necessarily the guy with the biggest boat. It’s the FWAB: Friend With A Boat.

Yes, it’s a thing. Yes, it’s the most valuable friendship of the season. But here’s the catch: If you want that invite to come aboard, you have to earn it. Boat owners don’t simply give away their floating happy places to the first person who says, “Hey, got room for one more?”

That’s where I come in. I’ve seen it all from the helm, and I’m your first mate for navigating the unwritten rules of marina social life. From picking the right dockside crew to knowing when to leave the anchor alone, I’m here to help you go from rookie to the friend every captain wants aboard.

So grab your deck-friendly shoes, pack some boat snacks, and let’s set sail into the fine art of finding a FWAB.
