Everything in life has a price- what is the cost of a fun summer for the average American homeowner?
A new report surveyed homeowners nationwide on their summer costs, ranging from utilities to landscaping– not to mention grill supplies, travel, and summer activities for kids. It found that Summer 2025 is projected to cost an average of $7,075.
Unsurprisingly, 48% are worried about affording this summer:
- 58% say summer is the costliest season– but 78% say its high costs are worth it
- 51% worry economic conditions like tariffs and inflation will ruin their summer
- 40% are cutting back, particularly on travel and summer cookouts
Speaking of cookouts, the people have made their choice: 61% of Americans prefer gas/propane over a mere 35% who prefer charcoal.
