The story behind "Baptized" is a tale of God's seeking after Davis over the years. Davis sang in his childhood choir since the age of 5 and accepted Christ into his heart at a young age. Davis continued to sing in his choir through high school participating in an a capella group at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia alongside present-day Passion conference worship leaders Kristian Stanfill and Brett Younker. Davis's faith renewal started in May 2024 when words of prophecy were spoken over his life in Kona, Hawaii by Christian prophet Jesse Wong. Miraculous encounters and dreams from God began to pour in and on February 1, 2025 while in Hawaii again with Christian songwriter Harrison Hackett, Davis prayed to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit - speaking in tongues, words of wisdom, prophecy, and miraculous healing - moments later, Davis witnessed a girl being baptized in Kamakahonu Beach (a location he would later learn is where Christianity was first introduced to the islands of Hawaii). Davis had been wanting to get baptized again to acknowledge his new commitment to Christ, so he decided to that day being baptized by Harrison and Hawaiian friend Blayde Nobriga. |
A week later Davis and Harrison were off on a 3 week songwriting trip to Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden - where the two wrote the song "Baptized" in Stockholm with producer Ludvig Algovik of Catapult Publishing on February 17, 2025. The stories of Davis's revived faith are currently being written down in a book to be published at a later point in time. But for now enjoy the music video for "Baptized" filmed in Nashville, Tennessee by director Micah Atkinson (director of Davis's other videos "Not That Far Away," "Dance With Me," "Can You Tell Me?," "Unlike Myself," and "Go See a Doctor"). In the video Davis is baptized by his friend and fellow Men's Bible study member Jared Thomas, while key members of Davis's faith watch: Rachel Vaughan - who played an instrumental part in his faith revival; Dalton Leath - one of Davis' best friends; Larry Larson & Stephanie Larson a husband-and-wife who host a Christian prophetic prayer gathering at their home in Tennessee, they recently appeared on Davis' Leaving a Legacy Podcast.
