I recently had the chance to review several fun and educational books from Workman Kids publishing.
The Atlas Obscura's Guide to Inventing the World - I love Atlas Obscura's website. They collect a lot of quirky sights to see from all over the world. We've previously read one of their books that focused on adventurous places. They have several other books, and now, this one uses the lens of inventions and developments to explore places around the world. For example, one spread is about fire, and highlights a cave and a fire research lab. The illustrations are bold and engaging, the text describes the site well, and if your family is anything like mine, it will add fun new destinations to your bucket list.
Color Your Own Stickers, Volume 2 - My older kid loves art. Even at seventeen, she enjoys stickers. Honestly, I like stickers too - they're a fun way to jazz up luggage, computer cases, water bottles, and more. Being able to color your own just makes them even more personal. This book has stickers on lots of different themes, sorted by page - robots, flowers, animals, and more. With a fun cartoon style, these are stickers that will brighten anyone's day.
Eyelike Stickers Deluxe: Animal Kingdom - My daughter also loves animals. So these stickers are also fun for her to add to her collection. The stickers are beautifully created, with bold, brilliant colors. Nearly everyone will be able to find their favorite animal in this book, with hundreds of different stickers.
Paperfold Sea Creatures - I really like the idea of this paperfold book. Each page has information about an amazing sea creature. The paper punches easily out of the book (so you're unlikely to tear the pages as you punch it out). You can put the models together without scissors, tape, or glue, making them a no-mess way to create a nice-looking work of art.
