Children’s literature is filled with fierce dragons who roar, breathe fire, and inspire fear. But in Tina Sturdy’s new book – The All Puff No Flames Dragon – readers are introduced to one of the most relatable dragons young readers are likely to meet.
Resonating with those children who understand what it feels like to stand apart, or to not fit, or to question their place among peers, this story of Blue, an enchanting and flame-free dragon, shares how strength can come from kindness, patience, and quiet courage.
So much more than a tale of dragons and kingdom, this debut novelist shares with six to -eight-year-olds how everyone has their own unique magic. And with its themes of friendship, jealousy, resilience, and love, the gentle wisdom that leaps from each and every page ensures that The All Puff No Flames Dragon will quickly become a story time favourite.
Synopsis:
Blue was a mild-tempered dragon; he had never lost his temper.
That was because he wasn’t an average dragon and was born different and couldn’t act like others. He wasn’t able to puff, nor blow huge flames or even manage a spark!
Then, a chance meeting with a princess changed his entire world. He took her to magical kingdoms as she rode on his back, and their friendship began to grow.
One day, he realised how much she meant to him.
And Blue suddenly became the dragon she always wanted him to be.
The story shows how friendship, love, and jealousy can be tested against all odds.
