This Halloween, some Americans are handing out king-size kindness… while others are turning off the porch lights and pretending nobody’s home.
Solitaired surveyed over 2,000 Americans to uncover how far people are willing to go in the name of trick-or-treating generosity. Turns out, the candy divide is real.
Key findings:
West Virginia, Mississippi, and Georgia top the list of the most generous states for trick-or-treaters.
North Carolina, Oregon, and Iowa rank among the stingiest.
The average American plans to spend $49.19 on candy this year.
Nevada, New York, and New Jersey lead in homes that offer adults a little alcoholic treat of their own (cheers to that).
55% of Americans want to be known as the “good candy house.”
1 in 5 say candy’s just too pricey to hand out.
2 in 5 admit they’ve hidden inside and pretended not to be home.
Whether it’s the states that go big on sweets or the ones pulling the ultimate Halloween disappearing act, this report reveals who’s really keeping the spirit (and the candy) alive this spooky season.
