Music Minute - Christmas Songs from Linda Imperial

Linda Imperial welcomes the holiday season with open arms and a heart full of melody through her heartfelt single, “Christmas in the Tropics,” now available on all streaming platforms and radio airplay on PlayMPE. Blending warmth, romance, and reflection, Imperial invites listeners into a world where love and connection transcend distance and climate. “The love from afar, in paradise came to mind,” she shares. “Missing the ones you love during the holidays, especially when you’re far away from each other, is such a challenging experience for lovers. I wanted to express the shared love and experience of a beautiful part of the world for people who experience Christmas in a different climate. It’s the same joy of Christmas, but it’s Christmas in the Tropics.”

Her second single, “Christmas, You and Me,” also available on all streaming platforms and radio airplay on PlayMPEwas born from the simple yet timeless desire to share special moments with the one you love. “I love the holidays and Christmas is one of my favorites,” Imperial adds. “It’s a time when people reflect on peace, love, and goodwill. I heard this melody in my head and sang it to my producer and songwriting partner, Joel Jaffe, who added his guitar magic and helped bring the song to life with the support of our San Francisco Bay Area musician friends.” Featuring Eamonn Flynn on piano, Ed McClary on drums, and Marc Levine on bass, the tracks capture Christmas's beauty, intimacy, and universal joy through Linda Imperial’s signature soulful style.

Linda has also released official lyric videos, produced by Eklectrik Music in Nashville, Tennessee, to accompany her holiday singles. Now streaming on her official YouTube channel, the videos capture the warmth and festive spirit of the season, inviting fans to celebrate the magic of Christmas through song and story.

About Linda Imperial:
Linda Imperial, a true survivor whose life and decades-long musical career have been a whirlwind roller coaster of highs, lows, and dark struggles followed by shining through redemption, showcases the blues-rock side of her artistry like never before.
After a tour with Big Mama Thornton’s rhythm section, Linda found her breakthrough success with Loverde, a '70s-early ’80s dance/vocal group she co-founded. Linda toured the world to promote their hit “Die Hard Lover,” which debuted on the Billboard charts at #4 and stayed in the upper reaches for months.
Her list of later credits and associations is truly dizzying. She has worked for and with the Jazz supergroup New York Jazz Explosion, Sylvester, The Weather Girls, Gary Duncan’s Quicksilver Messenger Service, and Jefferson Starship, where she met her husband David Freiberg (an early member of both Quicksilver Messenger Service and Jefferson Airplane and an original member and current member of Jefferson Starship).
