Book Nook - Rainbow Colors

What color is cheerful, or calm, or full of mystery? In Rainbow Colors by Yvonne Pearson and illustrated by Carole Chevalier (The Collective Book Studio, January 27, young readers embark on a sensory journey through the world’s most brilliant hues—from cardinals and carrots to oceans and amethysts. Each page invites children to guess the color before it is revealed, creating an interactive read-aloud experience that blends discovery, creativity, and emotional connection.

With lyrical text and bold, textured illustrations, Rainbow Colors transforms color learning into an exploration of feeling and meaning. This book doesn’t just name colors—it celebrates how each hue makes us feel.

“Colors are rich with possibility. They carry emotion, memory, and story,” says Pearson. “Rainbow Colors encourages kids to explore that connection with wonder and joy--and suggests that children, like colors, can come together to make something new.”

Rainbow Colors is a playful guessing-game format that builds color recognition, descriptive language, and emotional vocabulary—perfect for early STEM and SEL learning. From its sculptural embossing and hand-lettered cover to its richly textured artwork, Rainbow Colors merges artistic design with concept learning—a sophisticated choice for design-minded parents and educators.

Whether shared during story time, in a classroom, or as a quiet moment of discovery, Rainbow Colors inspires young readers to connect art, science, and emotion—one hue at a time.
