Travel Tidbits - Travel Behavior Survey

We've all had a bad experience while traveling, but it seems to be getting worse, right? Well, yes, because 80% of Americans feel airline etiquette has declined in recent years and this could be a great study to share with your readers ahead of family travel this summer.

If we're honest, we all do something that might annoy someone around us, but here are some of the worst travel behavior trends from a new study:

  • Putting bags on seats in the terminal and reclining seats without asking are the most common travel habits Americans admit to.

  • Reclining seats without asking and putting bags on seats in the terminal are the most common habits Americans witness while traveling.

  • Spirit (before it went under) and Southwest are the most common airlines Americans associate with naughty travel habits.

  • 32% of Americans actually admit they've used both armrests when not in the middle seat on a plane.

  • 52% of Americans have witnessed someone drinking too much on a plane.

  • 1 in 6 Americans have witnessed someone vaping or smoking on a plane.
