Travel Tidbits - Lunar Eclipse

August 2, 2027 brings the longest total solar eclipse over land until 2114. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and here are 5 trips built around the path of totality:

*PHARAOHS IN THE DARK: Luxor, Egypt - This is the headline act. Watch the longest totality on Earth near the temples of Luxor, then retreat to a Nile cruise. Average August cloud cover in Luxor sits under 1%. Build in sunrise balloon rides for extra fun.

*SHERRY, SURF AND SHADOW: Andalusia, Spain - Totality lands late morning over Cádiz, Tarifa and the Málaga coast. Pair it with sherry bodegas in Jerez, kitesurfing in Tarifa and a finale in Seville. It has the easiest logistics in the path, and it’s the best bet for photos.

*THE BLUE CITY GOES DARK: Northern Morocco- Stay in riads in Chefchaouen and Tétouan, sip mint tea on the rooftops, and watch from the Mediterranean shore. Martil beach gets nearly five minutes of totality.

*TWO CONTINENTS, ONE SHADOW: Spain and Morocco This is a split stay across the Strait of Gibraltar: Andalusia on one side, Tangier on the other. It’s the perfect upsell for clients who want the eclipse plus a bucket list destination.

CHASE IT AT SEA: Mediterranean- A yacht or small ship can reposition on eclipse morning to dodge clouds and crowds. That kind of flexibility is what luxury clients pay for.
