I recently started shopping at Walgreen's after having their list during a trial period at The Grocery Game (use referral rjjorgen@yahoo.com please!) There are lots of rebates available, each month, and if you're a resident of Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Tennessee, or Wisconsin the rebates can be submitted online. When I signed up for the online rebate program, I also elected to receive newsletters.
Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it to sign up for store newsletters - after all, they just increase the amount of email I need to sift through. However, it really doesn't amount to much time, and sometimes - like today - there are extra bonuses: a link to $5 off on Friday's purchases. I don't plan on shopping Friday, but that's just an example of a bonus you can get by signing up for newsletters at stores you regularly use.
