June Report

Here were my activities for the month of June, and their payout:

Laundry (line drying, washing cloth diapers) - $68 saved ÷ 2 hours = $34/hour
Clipping coupons/making a list - $215 ÷ 6 = $36/hour
Email and paid surveys - $72 plus $92 of "stuff" ÷ 18.75 hours = $8.80/hour
Online tutoring - $130 ÷ 12 = $10.83/hour
Taste test - $55 ÷ 2 = $27.50/hour
Associated Content - $14 ÷ 1 = $14/hour
Secret shopping - -$2 ÷ 0 = $0/hr
Selling stuff - $5 ÷ 1 = $5/hr
Other activities - $30 saved + $60 of "stuff" ÷ 1.5 = $60/hr

Overall: $740 saved/earned ÷ 43 hours = $17/hr

Now, this isn't entirely accurate, as this is the first month I was keeping track. Some of my payouts were from things done prior to June; some things I did in June I won't get paid until July. But overall, this should show my general progress from month to month.

Details:
Laundry - I wash cloth diapers, which saves me $10 a load or more (based on having to buy diapers). I line dry, which saves me about $0.75/load.
Coupons - I use The Grocery Game and Coupon Mom to help me make my lists, which nets me more savings than in the past. If you sign up, please use the links to the right and my email address.
Email and surveys - I will eventually write a detailed post about the programs I'm involved with there. The "stuff" I received: samples of cereal, bug repellent, laundry detergent, face scrub cloths, baby sunscreen, vitamins, Betty Crocker dessert, and Ziploc containers; body wash and granola as test products; Amazon gift cards; a Target gift card; and magazines - Outside, Metropolitan Home, Redbook, Everyday Food, Parenting, Home, Parents, Scholastic Parent & Child, Family Fun, Smithsonian; and a coupon for free cereal.
Online tutoring - I tutor through three different companies, which I will post more about in a future post
Taste test - see this post
Associated Content - I write up-front payment articles, plus I get paid per page view. You can see a list of my articles here
Secret shopping - I just started this, and will write more in future posts as I get more involved
Selling stuff - I just started posting our stuff on Craigslist, so this will hopefully become more profitable in the future
Other activities - I got gift certificates as a thank you for letting my daughter participate in a research study at the U, my husband saved us labor costs by doing a small car maintenance job himself, and I walked instead of driving to several things
