Time Tidbit: Cozi
If you're having difficulty getting your family organized, and are struggling with ways to keep all the information in one place, check out Cozi. Cozi is an online organizer that has many features busy moms need, designed to be easy to use. The family calendar can be color-coded and viewed by member, as well as synched with your Outlook calendar. Lists can be texted to your cell phone, as can reminders and quick messages. It works seamlessly with your cell phone (no download required, but you do need text messaging). If you haven't already set up a blog (Cozi calls it a family journal), you can do that using Cozi as well, with pictures and updates. It also helps you set up slide shows and screen savers of your favorite photos.
My biggest beef with Cozi is that some of the features lack Mac capability (such as the screen saver application). And, if you aren't used to keeping information on the computer, or don't regularly spend time with email, using Cozi will be more effort than it will save you.
However, it's free, and it's worth a shot to try out. There are some ads ("displaying relevant content to families from a select group of sponsors") but they are chosen carefully, so you won't ever see inappropriate advertising. I find it to be very intuitive, and if you aren't currently using any type of electronic organizer, it might be for you. However, if you're like me and set in your own routine of keeping information, you may find that switching over to Cozi takes more effort than it saves.
If you'd like ot see what it looks like, here's a sample family page provided by Cozi:
