Website Spotlight: BeeWellMiles

BeeWell Miles is a website sponsored by Bumble Bee foods (they make canned tuna, as well as other canned and pouched seafood and chicken). BeeWell Miles is a site designed to help you track your miles for running or walking, and then they will donate $0.15 for every mile logged to the Breast Cancer Network of Strength (up to a maximum of $200,000), which is a support network for those affected by cancer.

I just found out about it, so I don't think I can count my previous activity. However, I typically walk an average of 2 miles per day (more some days, but some days I do other workouts) which would mean I'd be able to log 42 miles, or $6.30. It doesn't sound like much, but added all together with people from around the country, and it could add up quickly. If just 33,000 walked or ran 2 miles a day for 20-25 days, it would be enough - and I know there are people out there who walk or run more than 2 miles.

Participating in BeeWell Miles not only helps support those affected by breast cancer, but it benefits participants as well. It provides a way to interact with healthy living experts, log miles and calculate the calories burned, or interact with other guests and share healthy tips. You can also calculate your route's mileage, or share favorite walking/running routes with others. They also provide a tool to see how activity and nutrition offset each other by entering miles and meals. Plus, each day you log miles or game codes from pink Bumble Bee cans you could instantly win one of 15,000 prizes!!
