Today I'm not going to talk about a specific meal idea, but instead give you some tips to help make sure your kids grow up with a good nutrition foundation.
- Involve kids in planning and preparing food.
- Eat meals as a family.
- Role model healthy eating (including breakfast and health snacks at designated times).
- Eat only in a designated area.
- Avoid using food as a reward or punishment.
- Don't eat in front of the TV.
- Offer new foods several times a week.
- Don't force your children to eat or clean their plates; having them try one bite of new foods is enough.
- Include activity daily (and do it as a family).
- Start with small portions for all family members, and then add more if someone is still hungry.
