Conforts for Baby is the website for the store-brand formula for Kroger (and other related grocery stores, depending on location).
Although I believe breast-feeding is the best option for mother and baby, I know that many moms are in situations where formula-feeding is better for them. All formulas in the United States have to meet nutritional requirements, and store brand formulas provide a much cheaper alternative that works for all but the most sensitive babies.
Comforts Baby formula has the same benefits as brand-name formulas:
- Fortified with iron and contains all the required vitamins, minerals, and nutrients
- Contains DHA and ARA to promote infant mental and visual development
- Designed to mimic mother's milk, including fortification with choline, lactose, and other nutrients that are associated with development and a healthy immune system
- In addition, Comforts is made in the only ISO 9001:2000–certified, infant formula-manufacturing facility in the United States.
To help promote and publicize the formula, Kroger-owned stores are sponsoring a sweepstakes to name the firefly mascot. If you visit the above website and submit a name (25 characters or less), you'll win a $10,000 scholarship for your little one. The contest ends July 31, and the scholarship is awarded as a 529 College Savings Plan. Entries will be judged based on three critera: Most Inventive (40%); Appropriateness to Campaign Theme (30%); Most Compelling (30%).
