Website Spotlight: Trade Monster

Here's a new online trading platform to try out.

Right now, the only online trading I use is ShareBuilder (and I don't do much trading there). The nice thing with TradeMonster is that it incorporates resources for people like me - who aren't really used to trading, and need more information to make good decisions. Another benefit of TradeMonster is the pricing - at $7.50 per trade, it isn't the absolute cheapest, but it's cheaper than most other sites; and unlike several other sites, the fee is the same regardless of the number of shares traded. Obviously you don't want to be trading constantly; even with "low" trade fees it adds up. The FAQ s clear and easy to understand - even for novice traders, which is nice for people who are just getting into it.

The biggest benefit of TradeMonster is that you can "practice" without using your own money. By opening a paper account, you risk no assets, but get the educational benefits and experience of trading until you have the extra cash to do so.

Playing the stock market isn't appropriate for every financial situation. TradeMonster lets you have a little fun trying out trades even if you aren't ready to trade yet - and when you are ready to trade, provides pretty good value.
