Contest: Crisco Cooking Chronicles

To help people incorporate healthful and delicious Latin flavors into their cooking, Crisco teamed up with Sylvia Melendez-Klinger, a nutritionist, certified personal trainer, cook and mother. She has a recipe for Lime Tortilla-Crusted Snapper with tangy cilantro sauce that uses lighter ingredients, including Crisco Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Crisco Pure Vegetable Oil. The dish was developed as part of a series of traditional Latin American recipes for Crisco’s Abre tu Despensa al Mundo Crisco (Open Your Pantry to the World of Crisco) program. The recipe and instructional cooking videos in English and Spanish are available on the Crisco bilingual website.

Recent Crisco products include three types of imported olive oil and Puritan Canola Oil with Omega-3 DHA. The Crisco line of products includes cholesterol-free cooking oils and all-vegetable shortening, as well as oils available in the innovative Crisco Simple Measures bottle.

Crisco is calling on all home chefs to expand their abilities and conquer their cooking fears and with Crisco Cooking Chronicles. Crisco Cooking Chronicles provides a forum to connect and share cooking and baking stories via a message board. The site will also provide video tutorials and tips for tackling everyday cooking and baking challenges. Kicking off with an olive and canola oil theme, the tutorials will include recipes like Herbed Parmesan Bread Dipping Oil, Grilled Salmon with Maple-Dill Glaze and Classic Blueberry Muffins.

If you upload a “cooking chronicle” you will be entered into a series of drawings, with four monthly Grand Prize winners receiving a basket of Crisco products and $500 for kitchen supplies.
