From time to time, I think it's probably a good idea to review some of the freebies I get, especially when they're better than I expected. The recent Atkins bars that came with the Atkins Quick-Start Guide are one example.
Although I never plan to actually be on the Atkins diet - it's too restrictive for me, especially with my major sweet tooth - it's not a bad idea to increase whole grains and limit processed carbs/sugars/etc. and after looking through the quick-start guide, it's really not as restrictive long-term as I originally thought. (Luckily, though, I'm a healthy weight, so that's not why I'd use their products).
The samples were of the bars - advantage, daybreak, and endulge. None of them were quite as sweet as a regular candy bar, but they were all at least as satisfying as a breakfast bar. They didn't taste chalky or bland like some meal bars I've had. I actually really liked the Endulge bar.
So, my lesson learned: not all diet products taste bad:)
