Parenting Pointers: MAT

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of USC. All opinions are 100% mine.

I currently work as an online teacher, and have completed my license work as part of a Master's of Arts in Teaching degree at a local college. If I were going to do it again, though, I'd strongly consider doing it online. I teach online, and I've taken some coursework online, and as a mother, it's really nice to be able to do things on my own time, not always be tied to going to a specific place at a specific time.

The USC Rossier School of Education’s MAT@USC provides the opportunity to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching degree for either current teachers or those who want to teach. The program combines interactive online learning with field-based opportunities (a must in an education program). They have a tuition reimbursement program, which can help with financial aid. The program is accelerated, so it takes as little as 12 months (although you'd have to be able to devote a great deal of time to it).

Rossier and the MAT@USC have received an award from AACTE for innovative use of technology in education, and the first cohort graduated in May. USC has a long history of educating teachers (100 years) and has recently brought that expertise to the new online program. They've been ranked #22 in the United States, and #9 among all private universities by US News and World Report.

If this is the kind of degree that might interest you, be sure to check out the program information for more details!
