Consumer Critique: Near East (and sweepstakes)

I recently had a chance to host a Near East home party.

I hadn't ever tried Near East before, and was a little hesitant to prepare it for my family because of my sometimes picky toddler. I shouldn't have worried, though - she loves noodles and rice, and although she kept going back and forth with what she called it (and wouldn't call it couscous) it wasn't a problem to get her to try it. I think couscous is a little bland by itself, but it's really easy to jazz up into a great meal or side dish, and the website has tons of recipes to help you with that - or with any of the rice or pasta dishes Near East makes. The site also has some really helpful dinner table suggestions to add some special touches.

Near East is 100% natural and has many products which have been certified Kosher, too.

You can enter a chance to win a Mediterranean cruise now through August 31st at Around the World in 5. You could also win a Taste of the World prize pack with subscriptions to gourmet magazines, a spice rack complete with spices, a cookbook, and a basket of Near East products. The site promotes Chef Peter Bowen cooking his way around the world with 5-minute recipes with an international flair that feature Near East products. You can earn extra entries by answering weekly trivia questions too.

To get more information, find Near East on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, or their blog.

I received a free Near East product in conjunction with this blog post. Near East did not influence my opinions expressed hear as a result.
