Consumer Critique: Viva Elvis

I recently listened to "Viva Elvis," a new album that was released by Legacy Recordings last month. Although I'm only a casual Elvis fan (in that I know his main hits), I enjoyed this album. It has some songs that aren't as familiar (to me) - King Creole, Suspicious Minds - and some that are pretty universally recognized - Blue Suede Shoes, Love Me Tender, Heartbreak Hotel. Obviously I wasn't alive when Elvis first came on the scene, but the songs still make me nostalgic for the sense that the music was a lot easier to listen to back then - easier to understand, and fewer questionable lyrics than on many radio stations today (of course, some were controversial at the time, but now they seem pretty tame).

If you like listening to Elvis, check out the album. You can find it in many music stores, or find Viva Elvis at Amazon where you can get previews and the full track listing.

Disclosure: I received a download of this album to facilitate my review.
