Consumer Critique: Consider It Done

I had fun reviewing the new book Consider It Done: Accomplish 228 of Life's Trickiest Tasks. This book is perfect for busy moms! The description for each task is only a few pages long, so it's easy to get through. The advice is general enough to apply to most related situations, yet it's not so general that it's vague and unhelpful. The book is written from the voice of experience; the company Consider It Done, which is where the title of the book came from, has done just about everything for anybody, from mundane tasks like organizing parties, to outrageous, like (no lie) sneaking an elephant into a park.

The tips in the book run the whole spectrum as well. Lots of them are problems faced by any homeowner, like eliminating mildew smell and quickly organizing a closet. There are some that fall in the "why didn't I think of that" category, like converting a closet into a nursery.

There are a few things that are obviously not appropriate for everyone, and also some things written from the author's perspective that others may not agree with, like a tongue-in-cheek mention of crashing a wedding for free food (obviously not real advice for everyone) and a mild condemnation of sleeping with your child (which can be a polarizing topic). But overall, the book is well-written with a dash of humor, easy to understand, and extremely helpful.

You can view the complete list of tips at the website, and decide for yourself if you should get the book. I think the book is a great value, for the sheer amount of practical tips there are - plus the entertainment value of the more outrageous!

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book to facilitate my review.
