Healthy Habits: Sweat

Do you or other family members have problems with sweat and odor? Before you reach for really expensive clinical strength deodorants (or if they aren't working) try these tips to see if they help.

Red meat, caffeine, and alcohol can raise your core body temperature, which means you'll sweat more. Try cutting back on these foods, as well as garlic, fish, and really spicy foods. These strong odors can make your body odors stronger as well.

Help keep your body cooler so it doesn't need to use as much sweat. Drink lots of water, eat cool snacks like fresh fruit or yogurt from the fridge, and wear loose-fitting, natural-fiber clothing (cotton).
