Website Spotlight: Foundation4theFuture

Can you imagine where we would be today without aggregates, or what you may know as stone, sand and gravel? You may not realize it, but these aggregates have played very important parts in the growth of our nation 0 and the world. The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) wants to introduce you and your family to an educational microsite, Foundation 4 the Future, where you will be able to explore our nation’s most historic past, present and our future to come. You can even have a peak into the Smithsonian Rock Gallery, an interactive platform where you and your kids can learn about the dynamic forces that formed our Earth and Solar System!

Did you know that paved roadways, railways, bridges, tunnels, and even toothpaste fall into the aggregates category? At Foundation 4 The Future, you will find video, links and stories to share with your children in order to teach them about the importance of natural resources.

Plus, if you retweet this post, you'll be entered into a drawing to win a gift package of Smithsonian Museum handbooks on rocks and minerals and companion rocks brochure, and an “Act Responsibly” poster for your home or child’s classroom – detailing safety tips for abandoned, active and idled mines and quarries in your area.
