American Express is launching a new special with foursquare that makes it even simpler to spread seasonal shopping cheer by shopping small – Spend $10, Get $10. When Cardmembers sync their American Express Cards with their foursquare profiles and then check in and spend $10 at one of hundreds of thousands of participating small businesses across the U.S, they will receive a one-time, $10 statement credit.
The limited-time offer builds on the momentum of the successful Small Business Saturday campaign on November 26, when Cardmembers across the nation received $25 statement credits by shopping small and checking in at their favorite local stores. As background, American Express began rolling out unique offers like “Spend $10, Get $10” earlier this year when it announced the national launch of its Smart Offer APIs with foursquare, which enabled couponless deals for the first time. The Smart Offer APIs allow Cardmembers who link their foursquare profiles to their Cards to “load” and seamlessly redeem merchant specials without the need for coupons, special codes, or showing their mobile devices to cashiers.
