Fun Freetime: Colorforms App

Did you play with Colorforms as a kid? I did and loved them. They now have a new app, Colorforms Revolution. The app is available for iOS and allows kids to play with Colorforms with sound and motion. Kids choose a Play Set with themed stickers and backgrounds, and can play a Puzzle Board to build a picture and see it animate. There are also some fun features - a crazy circle, surprise square, kaleido-triangle and radical rectangle.

The game is very intuitive. My four-year-old was able to navigate the app right away. My two-year-old pretty much just moved things randomly with no purpose, but still enjoyed what happened. Even I got wrapped up in it for a while, just experimenting with the different options available.

Colorforms was invented in 1951 and more than 1 billion of the vibrant vinyl playsets have been sold to date. Recently, the Toy Industry Association recognized Colorforms as one of the Top 100 Toys of the Century and TIME magazine named it among its “All-TIME 100 Greatest Toys.”

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of the app to facilitate this post
