Did you know that U.S. fire
departments respond to an average of
8,200 home fires annually due to the misuse of grills, hibachis or barbecues according to the National Fire Protection Association? Before
lighting your coals or turning on the gas, take a few moments to review

grill for safety.
- Position your grill a safe distance from your home or any building.
- Place your grill on a solid surface and in an open area, avoiding overhanging trees or rooflines.
- Never start a gas grill with the lid closed. Always keep a spray bottle and a fire extinguisher handy.
