Parenting Pointers: 5 Ways to Boost Your Energy

Finding yourself feeling a little sluggish lately and having trouble chasing the kids? Don’t worry, most mom’s experience that on a regular basis. To increase your energy throughout the day, there 5 natural and safe ways to help, all you have to do is, adjust a few things:
Cat Nap: It is recommended that you get at least 8 hours of sleep a night, but we can’t always get that. So when you are feeling a tad tired the next day, try taking a cat nap. A cat nap is a short nap that can boost your energy. Try taking a nap when the kids are napping, a 30 to 45 minute nap should do the trick!
Exercise: Try hitting the gym and exercising at least once a day. Getting your blood pumping and flowing will give you a sense of renewal. If you are unable to make it to the gym, something as simple as walking around the block for 15 minutes can revive you and an added bonus this burns those pesky calories!
Skip the sugar: Sugar may be delicious but it’s a hazard to your energy levels. Sugar may give you that burst of energy shortly after but then it is followed with a sugar crash. Skip the sugar and opt for something with more fiber and protein to get you moving.
Drink water:Majority of people are unaware that they are dehydrated. Dehydration can cause you to be very tired, so skip the sodas and alcohol and cleanse your body with water. According to the Mayo Clinic, it is suggested that women drink 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day. To make it easier grab a bottle with a squirt lid, now drink up!
Eat breakfast: Your mom was right; eating a protein breakfast is the best way to start your day. Try having a basic breakfast of eggs, oatmeal and toast with organ juice or milk. Whatever you do, do not skip breakfast! Skipping breakfast is the fastest way to become tired during the day. So eat up!
Take the time during your day to boost your energy; all you have to do is make minor tweaks to your daily routine. Get the rest you need, drink lots of water, exercise and be conscious of your eating!
