The Hollywood Reporter editorial director Janice Min, author of the upcoming book, How to Look Hot in a Minivan: A Real Woman's Guide to Losing Weight, Looking Great, and Dressing Chic in the Age of the Celebrity Mom, wrote an essay for the New York Times today entitled, "Can a Mom Get a Break?"
Janice, who gave birth just four months ago, draws on her personal experiences to examine the impact our looks obsessed celebrity culture has on new moms. She dives into how post-baby weight loss has become female entertainment and explores the illusion of the Momshell (mother-as-bombshell).
I thought it was a good, refreshing read in a culture of people being obsessed with appearances.
