I have a chance to run a seasonal giveaway for the upcoming holiday season, a heartwarming movie based on a true story, The Heart of Christmas.
The basis of the movie is the story of Dax Locke, a little boy who was diagnosed with leukemia after several months of uncertainty. After being told their son didn't have long to live, they decided they wanted to make sure he would be able to celebrate Christmas - even though it was only October.
This is the kind of movie that made me want to hug my kids and never let go - and I think every parent needs to see reminders of that sometimes, reminders of why we need to cherish the time we have with them, because we never know how much longer we're going to have them here with us, or how long we'll be with them.
Dax's story launched a foundation to support St. Jude, and you can view the Matthew West video of the song as well (Matthew West donated proceeds from the song to the foundation).
To enter the giveaway, leave a comment with how you make your moments with your kids special. Deadline is November 1st.
Disclosure: I received a complimentary screener of the film to facilitate this review.
