Thrifty Thinking: Larky

Larky allows consumers to get parks, discounts and deals from their registered associations and loyalty programs they would never know about without a little help. Groups like AAA, AARP, alumni associations, museums and more offer members-only discounts on food, clothing, travel and other everyday items that their customers are either unaware of or forget about when making a purchase. About three-quarters of members surveyed by Larky said that "they know they're entitled to member discounts, but they don't know what they are or how to get them."

Larky has put together a list of some of the most common perks and discounts consumers miss out on but could help save a couple bucks.
  • If you use your Discover Card at any Apple store, you get 5% cash back
  • AARP members who sign up for new DIRECTV service will enjoy $10 bill credit for 20 months- a savings of $200
  • AAA gives you a discount on sports equipment at Dunhams, MC Sports and other national sports store
  • When you pay for USA Today with your Visa card, you save 50% on the list price
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield members are entitled to discounts at Reebok.com
  • AAA members get 20% off at 1-800- FLOWERS
  • Discounts of 20-25% on prescriptions are available through most alumni associations, AAA members also receive great savings on prescriptions
  • AAA Membership Cards save you up to 50% on over 1,500,000 rooms at 12,000 properties
    • Hotels include: Best Westerns, DoubleTrees, Hiltons, Hyatts and more
120 million Americans make up the memberships of paid organizations like AAA, AARP, etc. These memberships allow perks for not only major stores/ services but also your local shops. Larky's app will alert consumers of the perks they deserve by sending a notification to their phone as they walk into the local corner shop I.e., "Get 5% back on your purchase at Ace Hardware when using your Discover Card."  Larky guarantee shoppers never miss the perks they are entitled to ever again!

I just signed up. Adding memberships is really easy, and the online dashboard shows you perks instantly - without having to enter any membership numbers! I'm looking forward to finding out what I've been missing.
