Caring Causes: Breast Oasis

Breast Oasis is a non-profit organization that collects, cleans and distributes new and gently used bras to women in need in shelters across the United States. They also educate women about the importance of self breast exams as well as outlets for breast health care in their area. In the past four years, Breast Oasis has collected over 135,000 bras and has provided donations to battered women's shelters, teen shelters and rape crisis centers nationwide.  Some of these centers include The Women's Shelter of Akron, OH, Rockford Mission in Rockford, IL, Children of the Night in Los Angeles County and The Center Against Domestic Violence in New York City.

After you sign up to donate, Breast Oasis will mail out a pre-paid package for the bras to be sent in and once received, Breast Oasis will take care of the rest! They are currently also working on local donation sites, such as participating Bloomingdale's locations. If you have some bras that don't fit you well but are in good condition, or you bought bras the wrong size at some point, here's a great way to find a good home for them!
