Caring Causes: Global Fund for Children/Tea Collection

On June 12th, Tea Collection will donate $5 from each purchase to benefit The Global Fund for Children.

 

The Global Fund for Children (GFC) invests in innovative, community-based organizations working with the most vulnerable children and youth: street children, trafficked children, refugees, AIDS orphans.  To date, GFC has awarded more than $27 million to over 500 grassroots organizations in 78 countries reaching nearly 8 million young people.

Tea Collection creates rich, vibrant clothing that will make any child feel special. But behind this stylish collection is a company with enduring values. Since partnering with The Global Fund for Children in 2006, Tea has raised over $200,000 to support vulnerable children worldwide.

Because of GFC supporters like Tea, children living with HIV in South Africa receive the counseling and medical care they desperately need. In China, migrant children are given a safe place to play and learn, rather than laboring alongside their parents. And in Guatemala, young survivors of human trafficking are returned to the safety of their homes and reintegrated into their schools and communities. These are just a few of the thousands of lives touched by Tea’s generosity.

Tea gives to GFC in multiple ways. Through GFC giving days, a percentage of online sales are donated to GFC’s programs, and customers are encouraged to add a donation to GFC when they check-out online. Through an employee-giving campaign this year, Tea is matching each donation dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of all gifts that come from Tea employees. All of these efforts add up to monumental change in the lives of vulnerable children.
