Consumer Critique: Visitation Street

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

Visitation Street is a mystery novel, but the mystery in some ways is secondary to the characters. The basic storyline is that two girls go out rafting and one disappears. But while that mystery is solved, we get to know other people in the community - the boy whose dad was murdered previously and ends up being a suspect, the mysterious do-gooder that no one knows about his past, the teacher who has his own issues and tries to help the surviving girl. The author captures the tone of suspicion of the "other" in this multi-racial neighborhood as well. It was one of those books that I easily read in a weekend and will gladly pass on to other people who enjoy suspense-filled novels.
