Soul Sustenance: 5 Minutes to Stress Relief

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

If you are really stressed, you probably wouldn't believe the title of the book 5 Minutes to Stress Relief: How to Release Fear, Worry, and Doubt...Instantly. And it is true that a few of the techniques she describes would take longer than five minutes to put into practice fully. However, the vast majority of the book contains practices that you can do any time, in just a few minutes, and even if you don't reap the benefits immediately, will help guide you into a less-stressed state of being overall.

By identifying three main fuels for stress - fear, worry, and doubt - Lauren E Miller shares techniques that get her through stressful situations. She's no stranger to major stress, having survived cancer and gone through a divorce, so she speaks from experience. Although I'm not sure how well some of the techniques she suggests would work for me, the nice thing with this book is that there are so many listed that they don't all have to work for you for the book to work overall. She also reaches into a wide variety of areas with stress relief, including religious (although it's not incorporated so much that this book is only for those with a spiritual bent), medical, and alternative practices.
